Jellyfin: The Complete Onboarding & Support Guide

    Hi! You’re invited to my Jellyfin server! This is a private media library I run myself. If you’ve just created your account, follow this guide to get connected and start watching.

    🚀 Getting Connected

    You can watch on pretty much anything! Using a web browser works fine, but I definitely recommend using a dedicated app for a much smoother experience.

    📺 Smart TVs & Consoles

    Just search your app store for these:

    ⚡ Logging in fast (Quick Connect)

    Tired of typing passwords with a TV remote? Use Quick Connect to sign in instantly:

    1. On your TV/New Device, select "Quick Connect" on the login screen. It will show a 6-digit code.

    2. Open Jellyfin on a device where you are already logged in (like your phone).

    3. Go to Settings > Quick Connect and enter the code.

    When asked for a URL or Server Address, enter exactly: https://jellyfin.wedoto.net

    🌟 Other Ways to Watch

    If the recommended apps above don't fit your needs, or if you are using a specialized device (like a Steam Deck, Kodi, or a custom media PC), check these resources:

    🍿 Can't find it? Request it!

    If there’s a movie or show you’re looking for that isn't in the library yet, you can actually add it yourself using Jellyseerr.

    Option A: Use the Web Portal

    This is usually the easiest way. Just sign in with your Jellyfin login. 👉 Open Request System

    Option B: Requesting via Moonfin (Mobile)

    Moonfin is already set up to talk to our request system by default.

    1. Tap on the search icon.

    2. Search for the movie or show you’d like to watch.

    3. If we don’t have it yet, the title will show up under the "Seerr" section.

    4. Just tap on it and hit Request!

    Option C: Web Browser

    When you log in, the request system should be ready to go. If it asks you to sign in, just use your Jellyfin account.

    1. Click or tap the Requests button on the navigation bar.

    2. Search for any movie or TV show you’re looking for.

    3. Select the title and hit Request.

    👥 Watching Together

    If you want to watch a movie with friends remotely, SyncPlay is built right into Moonfin and web browsers. Just tap the SyncPlay icon (the little group of people) in the player to start a shared room!

    🛑 Just a heads up on sharing...

    I've got plenty of bandwidth, but it's not exactly infinite!

    • Please keep your login to yourself.

    • If you have a friend or family member who wants an account, just let me know—they’re free! I’d much rather give them their own login than have a bunch of people I don't know clogging up the server.

    ⚠️ If things act up

    If you run into a broken link, a missing episode, or the quality just looks off:

    • Got a complaint? If something isn't working right, just shoot me a message. I'll do my best to fix it as soon as I can.

    Keep in mind this is just a fun side project for me, so thanks for being patient if it takes me a bit to get things sorted!

    🎞️ Keeping the library fresh

    To keep the server fast and make room for new stuff, I’ll occasionally clear out older or already-watched movies. If something you were planning to watch disappears, just request it again and I'll grab it!
